Book Manuscript Goes to Copy Editor
The "Growing Up..." manuscript is heading for review by a copy editor! I finished my editing and enlarging a few weeks ago, and am sitting back waiting to see what the copy editor suggests.
The process has already proved worthwhile in a sample chapter edit she conducted. In the first paragraph, I used two words, that should have been combined into one! Spellcheck didn't catch it, but the editor did.
So thrilled that I am one step closer to publishing the book, and sharing my dad and G.I. Joe's story...

Still Writing for Publication of Growing Up...
The Growing Up with G.I. Joe's story is expanding as I continue to edit. I am adding more chapters and photos, looking to wind up this phase in April. Then, everyone says you need an editor to go over everything, but I know that when I am finished, I will want to get the book out and skip that step!

Updating "Growing Up" Taking MUCH Longer Than Anticipated!
I have gathered more photos of the early days of G.I. Joe's and of my childhood and have added those to the book-to-be.
Now, I am completing a final editing and fact-check process. When that is wrapped up, I will publish "Growing Up With G.I. Joe's" as an e-book for Amazon, and hopefully for the Apple iPad.
I guess I have been procrastinating a bit, because the fun part of writing for me is the initial creative writing, not the clean-it-up and make-it-more clear work, but I am persevering!
I look forward to being finished the end of February or first of March.
